Go for it! It's not that bad. Following the Bentley, I think it states do
disconnect the sway bar on both sides. I would only remove the side you are
working on, or it can be a pain to get it mounted back up. You'll need a
spring compressor and a tie rod removal tool. The rears are a piece of cake.
I've got 150k miles on my S4 and haven't replaced the strut bushings. Can't
really give you a recommendation there.

I currently have the stock setup on my '92 S4 and will be purchasing
Bilstein Sport shocks with either Eibach or ABT springs in the next few
weeks. Is this an extensive DIY project (w/ a few friends for extra hands)
or would it be better left to a professional? I have the Bentley service
manual as well as some mechanical experience in changing out springs/shocks
on my 911 but would like to know what I am getting into. I of course would
have the alignment performed by a knowledgeable shop afterwards. Are there
any recommendations/comments anyone could suggest? I have been told that I
should replace the upper strut bushings in front - Are there any other
bushings that I should consider while I have everything apart? Thanks for
your expertise!
