[s-cars] Were all TAP chips for 20V bad? Yes and no

I had a '91 200 20v with TAP chip that was an absolute animal. I never had
any problems with the chip or wastegate spring. I did have some surging at
full boost, but the car was so fast I decided not to worry about it. The
problems started when I bought an RS2 turbo, which was fine until I
purchased the aluminum bypass valve. I bent some vanes on the intake side of
the turbo, sent it and the valve back to TAP. They said I overboosted the
turbo, which was not the case. How could I overboost the turbo if I am using
TAPs software? TAP was willing to rebuild it, but I told them to send it
back to me. They actually refunded the valve. So back to your origional
question, my TAP chipped 20v was EXTREMELY fast. I am getting ready to put a
MTM chip in my S6 and I am curious to see how it compares.
