Hi List,
It has been a while since I last posted, but I have had a few very
interesting findings while tuning my car recently. I have found that
genuine RS2 chips (chips made to run in RS2 cars) are really not intended
for the AAN box. If you are a user of RS2 chips in an AAN box, you may be
finding that the engine runs extremely rich at WOT, perhaps giving off
black clouds of exhaust, occasionally missing at high RPM and boost, and
leaving spark plugs black. I have found that the RS2 chips are running >21%
richer than intended in my car. I have lowered the pulse duration by this
number to correct for the excessive fuel delivery (this also allows the
injectors to run at a lower duty cycle, instead of running smaller
injectors (stock?) or lower fuel pressure and running at the very limits of
the injectors).
I thought that this was worth mentioning, although I don't know how many
people are running "actual" RS2 chips, and how many are running "RS2 for
AAN" chips, like those provided by Hoppen (stage 3) and Ned. My car had a
variety of mysterious ailments in the last year or so, while running RS2
chips, which were all cured when this change was done.

p.s. RS2 injectors are rated around 360cc/min at 3 bar, stock injectors should
be around 280cc/min at 3 bar. The flow limit on stock injectors at stock fuel
pressure is ~320cc/min, which is around 320hp, at or near maximum injector
duty cycle.
