You may be right. OTOH, without the tray, the IC may be getting more
flow. I don't remember seeing any hard evidence that the fender
(Franken) vent provided measurable IC flow increases. Anyone on the
list with lots of free time on his hands (and the requisite temperature
and/or flow sensing equipment), who'd like to resolve these mysteries of
the Audiverse once and for all? :-)
