[s-cars] Warranty Insurance

Hi Audi fans
In wondering if anybody has experience or recommendations regarding
repair warranty insurance.
My 1995.5 S6 has 70000 mi and ive owned it 5 weeks.
Ive repacked CV's, new shocks and now looks like its time for cam
position sensor.  All maintenance has been impecable and up to date. The
car runs great when the cam sensor is not out.
Im contemplating purchasing warranty insurance.  The quotes vary quite
alot but it looks like I can get 3 yrs 50Kmi for 2000-2500$.
I still need to examine carefully the extent of the coverage.
The question is do you guys think +/- 800$/yr for major repair coverage
is worth it for a S6 during the period 70000-10000 mi?  Of course this
does not cover normal scheduled maintenance.
Any body have experience with specific companies?
Part of this is based on the fact that the faulty cam sensor has left my
wife stranded 2x and her tolerance for this car is rapidly diminishing.
When the next electrical gremlin shows up it'll be adios Audi.  I cant
convince her these are issues you have to deal with on any car including
new cars and the S6 is actually better than most.
