Curiosity piqued on whether I have the possibly infamous so called comp
turbo, I trudged to my oem abandoned parts pile and looked at the box that my
rather new turbo had come in.
It says: "Borg Warner Turbo Systems" and www.turbodriven.com and kkk
Turbolader Schwitzer and 5324 988 7200 .(that's right 7200.)
The label says "Trucktec Original Spare Parts" and "repl. No. 034 145
703D" (RS2 Turbo #)
Here's a little "dead horse" history-

1995 1Kuhlman and Schwitzer merge.
KKK establishes a sales office in the U.S.
1997 BorgWarner acquires Penske Transportation's stake in KKK.
Schwitzer acquires the Kysor Transportation Group.
Kirchheimbolanden capacity increased to 1 million turbochargers annually.
1998 Foundation of 3K-Warner Turbosystems after take over of the charging
systems division of AG KKK through BorgWarner.
Output of the Kirchheimbolanden plant increased to 1.5 million turbochargers
annually. 3K produces its ten-millionth turbocharger.
1999 BorgWarner acquires Kuhlman.
3K-Warner and Schwitzer become BorgWarner Turbo Systems.

My guess is that the "comp/7200/RS2" turbo's are now all the same as this
former improvement is now the original replacement. So, any new RS2 turbo
purchase will prolly be the RS2 Competition IME, hell I got it without even
trying. (But like Dennis Miller, "ICBW.")
Cheers'
