[s-cars] Crack next to the steering rack

Hi all,

I know this was/is an issue with the earlier S-cars. I had the crack braced
and welded about 2 years ago and the crack is back. The crack is about 2.5
to 3" long on the driver's side of the mounting area. On further inspection
the bracing the welder used was not very substantial and/or it may have
broken or fallen off. It doesn't look like there is too much room to work
with, especially if a bigger plate is used.

Any and all BTDT or similar experiences to fix the problem permanently or
very close to it would be greatly appreciated. Or if you know of any shops
in the Seattle area.
