While we're spreading rumors, I've heard the reason for the absolutely flat
torque curve of the stock RS6 is to stay below the maximum torque the
transmission can withstand. Also heard that a new, stronger, sequential
gearbox is in development which will allow the engine to use more of its
potential.  I've heard nothing about whether a manual trans.  is being
developed.

Rumor has it that nobody will make a chip for it, as the tranny isn't
strong enough. I'm sure Audi would've been happy to crank out 500hp and put
in a manual 6spd if they could make it work.
