Subject: [s-cars] RS6 Developments

>I also learned that the next S4, to be released in Limousine and Avant
initially and later as a 2-door Coupe, will be equipped with 'only' 300bhp,
the next TT will be a VW-Group V->6 3.2 litre with 240 BHP.

To quote the owner of a local Audi dealership, "I'll believe it when I see
it." It seems unlikely to me that Audi would give the TT identical running
gear to the recently announced Golf R32
(http://www.vwvortex.com/news/index_golfr32.html). Other rumors claim the
new TT will be powered by a hotted up version of the new 2.0t with around
260 hp. I actually hope they go with the VR6 option, the 4 banger is just
too damned boring in the TT. The VR6 will give that car that extra bit of
panache its been lacking.

The other "official" rumor on the next gen S4 states 340 hp from a new V8
with the valve timing belt replaced with a chain and moved to the BACK of
the motor. This will effectively shortent the motor several inches and move
some weight closer to the axel. Both good things.

>If anybody wants an RS4, I know of one which can be shipped to the States.
It was specified by one of the R8 drivers and developed by Audi Sport,
quattro GmbH and MTM, it >has 500 BHP and has been specially modified to
cope with very hot conditions and poor fuel, the owner is upgrading to a
ClubSport GT2. The process of Federalising these cars is >well understood. I
believe that there is a certain Don in Colorado who is going to be swamped
with demands for Auto Financing (can't hurt the VC market has gone to hell).

We've got one already on the boat. Should be here in about 6 weeks. We've
got a buyer for it, but there will be more following this one :-)

>Right now the hot auto property is the V-10 Diesel Touareg, everybody is
queuing up for it.

Dibs on the first one wrecked. I wonder if that motor would sqeeze into the
back of a Westy Syncro...
