Forget the Audi content Igor. If someone searches this subj in the
archives, he deserves all these. The Saeco (formerly Estro) machines
are some of the best.
For those needing help extracting the consistent cup, I recommend you
to one of the superautomatics at <wholelattelove.com>. I'm presently
using the Krups palatino 905 which is made in Italy and is identical to
the Saeco vienna. I used a lovely brass Pavoni lever machine for
years, but it takes practice for consistency and a seal rebuild every
two years (and polishing). A Gaggia coffee pump replaced it but needed
ground coffee, and I'm too far from the source. The superautomatics
have an integral burr grinder so it's just a matter of keeping a steady
flow of Kimbo Fascia Rosa Nera beans to feed the grinder. They use
wood in the gas fired roasters to produce that unique Neapolitan
character and flavor. You got that , JOE? About 10 Kilos of Kimbo ,
easy on the virgins. Seriously, I can't see a guy with roots in
Calabria using (and promoting) that weak northern stuff. Illy is
roasted by Swiss, good grief! I've been known to detour a long way
just for a case or two,(and visit friends in Aci Trezza. Sicily.)
Ciao
