Chi-
Precision Wheel and Tire seems pretty good- I've used
them to mount and balance wheels, no alignments, though.
They're right down the road from me, so very convenient.

I don't think they should charge more than 3 hrs. for a
4-wheel alignment, but I see their point- if your tie rods
are all seized, it's a major PITA for them and it gets very
time-consuming.

That's why I paid $1400 for installation of shocks and springs,
front control arms and 4-wheel alignment. VT car had lots of
seized hardware.

The shop in Montclair is Euro-Tech, owned by Bill Ferdon. I'll
look up a phone number if you like, 973 area code. Fellow lister
Allen Swett's buddy. Good guys, both of them. :-)

Actually, I'm on the search for a good foreign car mechanic
for my parents' cars- they're both out of warranty now and
I'd never send them to the dealership again, as all of the VW/Audi
dealerships in their area are incompetent, extremely expensive
and have serious attitude problems. Maybe it's the NYC attitude-
Don Rosen and Holbert's have both treated me very nicely and
professionally in Philly.
