Well, after 15 - 17 inches of snow over the past 4+ days, I finally
bolted up my new winter shoes: 225/45-17 Michelin Pilot Sport All Season
on 17x7.5, Et 43, Audi / BBS wheels.

The wheels look good on the car and the 43mm offset tucks them in nicely
for winter use. Even so, there is PLENTY of room under these wheels for
brakes. They clear my Bira 6 easily.

I've only put 20 miles on the new tires in cold, snowy, slushy weather,
so I can't really opine as to their performance just yet, but they seem
quite promising.

FWIW, the combination comes out to ~45 pounds per wheel.

Finally, a lug bolt question... Is a conical seat lug a conical seat
lug, or does the cone portion come in different dimensions? Likewise,
how about ball seat, are they all the same or are there different size
"balls" (easy ladies, no need for 40 Beavis & Butthead double entendre
responses. In an attempt to get this list off of all of the current
tangents, just the facts. No need to bring up anti-seize either).

The OZ superleggera uses what appear to be ball seat lugs. I am going to
steal some of the kid's play-doh tomorrow and take an impression of a
stock lug and then see how the OZ SL lug compares.

I am off to Vegas at the end of next week for SEMA, and some
entertainment. Hopefully there will be some good Audi stuff to see.
