Err, make that New Hampshire.
It's snowing in Dartmouth country, early.
I agree with that tire size as well. I bought into the 205-HR55 x16 Dunlop M2's before Tirerack raised prices in Sept.. Mounted them on 6" wide rims.
I throw out the aesthetics argument in winter, opting for superior traction. Thin is in around here. Contrary to the Eastside listers, winter is a mean SOB around here.
I can see wider tires down south, but not where it really snows.225's won't cut it, literally.
Drove the car in a spirited manner on dry roads yesterday, and was pleased I didn't
trade off too much bob and weave handling. It was still tight.
Following Uncle Bob's advice, I got these for $92 plus mounting. times 4.

225/45-17 Winter 210s weren't as confidence inspiring on my UrS up at
Steamboat last year. I'm going 205/55-16 Hakka Q's this time around.
The wife has 205/55-16 Pilot Alpin on the fwd 855 T-5R. Great tires dry
/ wet / snow. As a matter fact I took it out yesterday evening and spent
about 20 mins spinning doughnuts in an empty lot. Gotta love fwd and
ebrake.
