Not to throw fuel on the fire, I'd agree it (methanol) is obviously
combustible, but ...
isn't combustion a two part chemical reaction? How much spare O2's left in
the mixture if your MAF is doing its job correctly?
OTOH, it sounds to me as though the process does serve to raise the octane
level of the mixture, even if only a (?) small proportion, as well as lower
the incoming air charge temperature (maybe that's where some additional O2
can be stuffed in, greater density.) In any event, I think what you've done
Bruce is a great idea for allowing you to bump up your boost, especially on
a warm day, if that's what you're doing.
