Subject: [s-cars] M5 discussion lists??
You guys will hate me for this but,
I am thinking about purchasing a used E39 M5 (that's the current, 5.0 v8
model) in about a years time and I have been searching for some decent
discussion lists... Well, all that I can find are lists consisting of people
with posts like- "Here are some pics of my '01 M5 on 19" BBS LM's, and its
parked next to my X5 4.6is! Oh, check out my mansion behind the cars!!" or
something like that. No real discussion of problems with the cars, or
dislikes. Can someone point me in the right direction, or does such a thing
not exist? Paul K, any ideas, opinions?
I think it is time for some normally aspirated, V8, rear wheel drive, 6
speed, stupidity. (really get myself in trouble) Of course I'll be keeping
the S6, Gotta have the Audi! (how 'bout some 6 speed RS6
imports/conversions!?!?) :)

Hate you for this??? Why? Hopefully most of us here are just general "car
idiots", and can appreciate other marques. I do. The E39 is a bitchin
machine. Hell, the E34 is a bitchin machine. And, heh, I'll ALWAYS be a
RWD throttle steerin' fool at heart, Q car or not.
I've been out of that loop for quite some time Paul, since I sold my E28 a
few years ago (speaking of engine notes! Don't get me going on that one!).
My only recollection is http://www.bmwm5.com/ , it was a good source at the
time. But I know what you're saying. Too much "bling" speak amongst that
crowd, much like the neu Audi crowd, Audiworld, etc.. Gag me. Otherwise,
try contacting Bavarian Autosport in NH 800-525-2002 (what a phone #, I'll
always remember that one), and ask them for advice.
Otherwise, DO IT. I would. Well, if I were single, <25, etc. like SOMEONE
over there 8-). Only promise me you'll beat it like a redheaded step
child... of course.
