Don't believe everything you see in the movies! As one of the "Stunt double=
s" in Frank's petite oevre, I can tell you that that car moved out really q=
uickly with five guys on board, one of them built more for comfort than spe=
ed.
In standard form, and with experience I can now say that the car in Frank's=
 footage was better than stock, ex-factory. The series car gives Ferrari 36=
0s a bad time; with a little help from the chip-shop ( a mandatory shopping=
 stop, the effect is truely electrifying), Zuffenhausen and Weissach engine=
ers drop their jaws and shake their heads - my favorite was
"Mein Gott, it is a Turbo!, the sound, the speed, the handling!"
Well I think he was being a little generous on the handling, but it was und=
erstandable, he was led away muttering (diminuendo) "but its an Audi.......=
 an Audi....."
Interestingly, serious Pilots switch to different brakes, the series items =
being likely to catch fire when used in anger. Please remember we are talki=
ng about stopping from speeds in excess of 300kph.
I have not put a watch on the car's acceleration yet, but with 500bhp on ca=
ll, its in the low 4-second range, not so bad for a 5 seater load lugger.
Oh, and I can say, Walter Roehrl loves the car, we did a couple of laps of =
the Nordschleife in the DTM Safety car, an RS6 Sedan, and I have the photo =
to prove it!
On a related matter, having driven the arse off a couple of new A8s on a hi=
gh speed handling track, it is the best handling limousine in the world, ea=
t your heart out BMW 7 Series and Mercedes S-Class!
