[s-cars] Car bucking under WOT - I have codes

You can fabricate a VAG-COM "adapter" for our 2X2 connection out of a Cat5
cable and some solder.

Uwe sent me the following directions to make the cable:
-----Uwe's web page describing the 2X2 connector-----
http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/2x2.html#VAS
-----Uwe's home-made 2X2 directions-----
Cat 5 Wire colors Probe Color Function
Orange & White/Orange Red +12
Brown & White/Brown Blue K
Blue & White/Green Black GND
Green * White/Blue Yellow L

Note that you must untwist and "cross" blue and green, the last two sets of
wire colors are not a typo. Pull back the outer insulation on the cable you
have now going to the red OBD-II connector and note it's also got green and
blue "crossed".
-----End of Uwe's stuff-----

Here's an image of it plugged into the 2X2 connector on my 1995.5 S6:

Don't forget to check the fuses, if you plug it in wrong, you'll blow one
(don't ask me how I know):

My advice (worth what you've paid for it <g>) is to hook up with your
VAG-COM friend, and have a peek. HTH.

"Near" is Flagstaff, Arizona. I do have a fellow Audi head w/a VAG in
Phoenix, but he doesn't have the adapter for our UrCars. Anyone on the list
near me???
