Your auxiliary coolant pump might be leaking and somehow the fluid is
finding it's way toward the back of the engine. It took me awhile to
realize where it was coming from. Locate your Pump (Driver side, small
metal cylinder with electrical plug in front and 2 coolant hoses on top
and back) and run your hand along the bottom of the bracket it attaches
to. If it's wet, it's leaking. It cracks at the plastic housing at the
rear. When it first starts going bad, it only leaks when it is running
(5 minutes after the car is turned off and then it stops after a few
minutes, although after a while it will start to spew coolant all over
the place. Not repairable, needs to be replaced. $89.97 delivered at
thepartsbin.com and 10 minutes of your time. Or 10 minutes of boiling
coolant geyser, 20 minutes of seeking advice, 30 minutes of wrenching to
remove the pump and reroute coolant hoses to bypass bad pump with hot
coolant all over the place, 20 minutes to scrounge coolant and 15
minutes with a 100lb bag of kittylitter and a broom in the paddock at
Laguna Seca. Ask me how I know. Your choice :-)

SNIP-

One question, I had a small amount of coolant dripping from the tranny
bell
housing when the car was on ramps and running. The dripping seemed to
stop
after a bit and my coolant level is normal... I'm not sure where it was
coming from... was it because I was on ramps?

Thanks to all for the help!
