Thanks again for all your insight.  That was indeed the problem.  I found o=
ne at a local parts store last night and replaced.  I'll keep a close eye o=
n it since it was slightly different than the original.  May still replace =
with OEM but wanted to get back on the road.

if you're talking about the one that sits above the big round one.
i recall removing it with a socket, though i can't remember the size
at the moment. mine was leaking through its terminal, so when i took
off the rubber boot, oil came out. i verified it by running the engine
and watching it drip oil as the engine ran.
