Bill-
If you were devoted to avoiding laser timing, you need
to get something with very low frontal area (sports car,
usually) with concealed headlamps and paint the whole car
flat dark grey and no front plate, either.
:-)
C&D did some testing when laser came out and the FD3 RX-7
came out tops due to its low frontal area and concealed
headlamps. Making the car very difficult to acquire allows
you the greatest warning time. The other thing to do would
be to mount some very high-powered flood-pattern driving
lamps with IR filters to jam the laser. This also has been
proven to work, although some Hella Rallye 3000s wouldn't look
so hot on your S6.

Subject: [s-cars] Re: Colors + Laser Radar
I used to have "Stealth " tornado red, but clearcoating the whole car
after hail damage a couple years ago, it is now "radar" red:) IOW clear
coat is a great solution to lousy Audi paint IME. Still shining.
Speaking of grey colors, Toyota and some other manufacturers have come
up with a new variation I call "casket grey." And speaking of stealth
(and as an indication of how deviously sick I have become,) since IL
sort of requires a front plate and thats the target of laser radar, I
was thinking of a.) removing the front plate altogether ala my Carerra
or b.) recreating a laminated cardboard photocopy of the front plate to
use. Not that I exceed speed limits or anything, but a chicago tailwind
does get hold of me from time to time. cheers' Bill M -5 time traffic
