My take is Audis' goal was to limit boost to save the transmission. Thus with
cooler temperatures you do not need as much boost for the same Torque. Indeed
with a stock setup boost is often higher at sea level with elevated
temperatures. You can also find the boost levels in the Bentley manual. If
you search through the Autospeed articles he also indicated they were
perplexed that Audi increased the boost with higher temperatures. It is also
interesting to note that boost is also increased when using the AC but not
enough to recover the energy loss with it on.
