Paul-
If you go this route, you'll have to source custom
brackets from somewhere. No one to my knowledge offers
a pre-made bracket for these brakes.

My suggestion, if you decide to do this, is to go with
the 944 Turbo S (aka '89 944 Turbo aka 951S) calipers,
which are the same as the 928S4 calipers. The pre-'88
Turbo S calipers are smaller and use significantly smaller
rotors (299x30, IIRC) and are not a worthwhile upgrade,
IMHO when there are far better options available.

If you do that, I'd also scour the Porsche lists to see
if any 951S or 928S4 owners have upgraded their brakes
to "Big Reds" (aka 993 Turbo calipers aka 928GTS calipers (those
are black though) aka 965 Turbo S calipers) and are selling
their original brakes.

Crescent City Motors is my favored supplier of Porsche
brake components- w/ an UrS, you can very easily use the
993 Turbo caliper along with the early Euro S8 (323x30mm)
rotor and RS2 caliper brackets to have a relatively inexpensive
brake upgrade.

BIG RED DREAMS. I want to stop better than I can now! I'm dreaming of
doing a brake upgrade this spring. I've watched the threads this summer
and fall and wanted to do the GP from ECS but my budget would not let me
yet. But I WILL be ready for this spring. I was talking it over with
my mechanic and he suggested using 944 turbo calipers. Anyone have any
experience with them on the S-cars?

My goal is to have better braking the stock; (so when I start doing RS2
add-ons, the car will stop!). It's a daily driver; probably won't ever
see the track except the pits at The Glen each fall. I do believe my
mechanic is qualified to make these recommendations as he is formerly a
Audi stealer service manager and Audi stealer master mechanic (now has
his own garage), plus he and his son both have S6s and track them. I've
never heard of this setup before so I'm posting the question here.

944 turbo calipers and pads
stock S6 rotors

Would this be a lot better than stock? Is it even close to ECS stage I
or II? Am I crazy (or just cheap).

Be nice with your responses as I might not be able to stop if I ever see
you on the road.
