How many runs have you taken? I've got a couple customers that have done the
1/4mile routine with extreme fanaticism (direct quote: "dynos ain't nuttin
till you gots a quarter"). I've done a couple of clutch jobs in response.
IMO, the weight and the traction of the S4/6 means that something in the
driveline has to give. First appears to be the clutch, the second appears to
be the slop in the dual mass flywheel. The change to the aluminum flywheel
only managed to speed up the clutch loss problem. My suggestion was to run
really skinny wheels and tires at the track, to actually lose a bit of
traction on startup and second gear. Also worthy of note, a couple of
complete tosses due to zero hookup slamming into second gear.

In this quest for HP, the clutch is the next weakest link. Even the dual
puck rally clutch in the S2 doesn't last very long in any competitive
environment. I'm hoping you'll solve this problem for the rest of the class
cap'n.

Not so, dry tracks too as long as they are straight preferably 1/4 mile long
or longer.
