Jim,

This is terribly easy.

1) Read my faq at www.urs4,com regarding different stages of exhaust
uprades.

Those suggestions not withstanding, I would simply delete the resonator
/ center muffler. The car will be a little louder and lighter to boot.
Cost? Less than 1 hour of labor and two sections of straight pipe.

In additon, you can consider getting a set of cats and gutting them.
Cost? Couple hundred bucks, and a few hours of your own labor (doubt any
shops would swap these in for you).

Note, however, that the right muffler shop could do a 3" cat back system
using only a 3" in / out rear box (straight thru design, your choice)
for only a couple hundred bucks, assuming you didn't want a fancy tip.
