The other very likely possibility is that Porsche is officially racing
the Carrera GT in 2003. Since Audi and Porsche have never officially
competed again each other (family rule for better Xmas diner !!!!!),
Audi will compete via Bentley, the famous english paint maker for Audi
Sport Cars.

Frederic

Subject: Audi-less Le Mans??
Frederic --
Think this is a case of "After a three-peat, what do we have to prove?"
I imagine that VAG will through enough resources into the Bentley camp
to bring them home first. Who knows? Following year may be Bugatti's
turn, then Lambo's. I'd personally like to see Audi hang around until
another major manufacturer gets involved in Le Mans again. As dominating
as the R8 has been, I don't think Audi has gotten their due, because the
competition has not been all that great. About the time Cadiyak starts
to show some promise, they fold. I'm afraid that the LMP class will
pretty much wither away and we'll see GTS class overall winners, if
Porsche, Merc, BMW, Peugeot, Toyota, Mazda, or whoever doesn't get
interested soon. Maybe it's Hyundai's turn? :-)
