[s-cars] Rolled a //M Coupe Thursday!!!

So guys,

Right when you thought my crazy antics could not get any worse...


Went up to Mora, NM for Thanksgiving, a friend of mine (VW GTI driver)
picked me up in his mom's 2000 M coupe (Dinan chip and exhaust). The car was
incredible, fast as shit, although the whole time I'm thinking, "OK, when is
the rear end going to snap out?" I drove the car for awhile, had a blast,
started to get the hang of driving RWD. Switched places with my friend, and
not too much further down the road...

We were comming out of a LH sweeper, maybe a little too fast, probably 90mph
(speed limit 25) and the rear end slowly swings out to the right. OK, this
may have been manageable, had he kept into the throttle. Well, he lifted,
and the rear end violently swung left. We slid sideways for a good way on
the pavement, then went into the dirt. We would have been fine had a tree
not flipped us. We hit the tree, went airborne, and flipped over four
times(a witness said we were as high as the tops of the pine trees on the
side of the road). All I remember at this point was dirt and glass flying
everywhere. We actually took out three smallish pine trees. We came to a
stop, right side up, I was fine, look over at my friend, and he was knocked
unconcious momentarily. He hit his head on the pillar just over the side
window and got a pretty nasty concussion. He is OK, doesn't remember the
accident at all. Its a shame, 'cause it was the sweetest thing I have ever
experienced!

I'll post pics of the car as soon as we can get some digital pics. BTW my
side airbag was the only one to deploy, not sure how I would have been
without it(although I think it broke my cell phone, which was in my pocket)

Moral of the story-
1.If you drive RWD, or even most other cars, stay in the gas.
2.Wear your seatbelt (we had ours on of course).
3.I am not a fan of glass sunroofs, it did not last long, thankfully none of
our limbs went out of it...
4.Side curtain airbags are a good idea

German cars kick ass!!! They've saved my ass more than once.
