Guys
For those of you who have, telephonically speaking, embraced the 21st Centu=
ry, Cullmann offers third party add-in phone kits which work with 900/1800/=
1900 Hz GSM/GPRS/UMTS handsets. Their Variocom kits are factory equipment h=
ere in Europe. I KNOW that their kits work in current US supplied Audis, gi=
ven Steve's statement about the similarity between the cars, this might be =
a way forward for some people with UrCars.
My ex-factory Cullmann kit works throught the integrated Nav/Audio/TV syste=
m with a separate microphone and speaker and smart mute - the nav instructi=
ons come through at normal speed related volume, the traffic reports are lo=
w volume and the radio/cd is muted. If I remove the handset from the centre=
 armrest cradle, it mutes the speaker and I can have a private phone conver=
sation.
The new A8 has a very nice Bluetooth Interface to the handset.
