This looks interesting. http://www.cullmann.de/&lan=en Too bad I have a
brain-dead phone (Nokia 3360). By the time I'm ready for a new shoe phone,
presumably GSM will be more prevalant in the US...

Guys
For those of you who have, telephonically speaking, embraced the 21st
Century, Cullmann offers third party add-in phone kits which work with
900/1800/1900 Hz GSM/GPRS/UMTS handsets. Their Variocom kits are factory
equipment here in Europe. I KNOW that their kits work in current US supplied
Audis, given Steve's statement about the similarity between the cars, this
might be a way forward for some people with UrCars.
My ex-factory Cullmann kit works throught the integrated Nav/Audio/TV system
with a separate microphone and speaker and smart mute - the nav instructions
come through at normal speed related volume, the traffic reports are low
volume and the radio/cd is muted. If I remove the handset from the centre
armrest cradle, it mutes the speaker and I can have a private phone
conversation.
The new A8 has a very nice Bluetooth Interface to the handset.
