Audi has just changed the OEM oil filter they supply. The last one I picked
up for the UrS4 also didn't have the anti-drainback "thing" in it - I
suspect it is still there, but not as obvious as the spring-loaded unit in
the old type filter. The price hasn't gone down, though. The new filter
looks more "Fram-like" than the old one - I wonder who is now supplying them
to Audi?

What I notice about the oc-264 is that it doesnt appear to have the
anti-drain back "thing" in it.. I always assumed that it does matter but
maybe not. AFAIK- mahle, mann, and audi brand filters were/are all
interchangeable as far as quality..
I'm going to use the filters, I just got 2 of 'em.. We shall see.
