A couple of thoughts for you flyboyz:
RE: Boost controllers. Bob P put up the main reason aftermarket boost
controllers aren't even close to the best boost controller in an S car -
Motronic. Motronic has 160 variables in the boost profile. ALL aftermarket
boost controllers have less, usually ten fold less. The other thing one
might find on a trip to the lowlands, is that whatever boost controller
function you might ahve enjoyed at altitude, sucks wind at sea level. That
would include several CO boyz (names withheld to protect the guilty - you
know who you are). I routinely disconnect them in Chicago to get the car to
run right. I'm also quite fascinated that any piggybacked boost controller
can work on any S car without throwing a bunch of codes. I registered no
less than 6 codes on a more recent debug.
WRT turbos, IC and "big". To date the highest recorded dyno number I've
seen stateside is 418 rwhp (sans correction). Another given, is that the RS2
MAF will suck it's innerds (IOW: it breaks) at sustained levels of 440hp.
Soooo, I really wonder how much all these Hapersized - tm goods are in terms
of cost vs benefit.
Hap have you put the beast on a dyno yet?
