[s-cars] warranty GP?

As some of you know, my transmission was replaced with a six speed under
aftermarket warranty (Interstate) purchased when I bought the car.  My
policy stated (and I'll bet all of them do) that performance modifications
void the warranty.  This is the reason I did not chip the car until after my
warranty expired.  In addition putting the car on a race track also voided
the warranty.  Read the fine print.  When you make a claim, be prepared to
spend time on the phone or soothing the ruffled feathers of your mechanic
who'll be dealing with a company that makes it money by NOT paying.  The
bigger the claim, the more effort they will make to look for a way out.
