policy stated (and I'll bet all of them do) that performance
modifications
void the warranty. This is the reason I did not chip the car until
after my
warranty expired. In addition putting the car on a race track also
voided
the warranty. Read the fine print. When you make a claim, be prepared
to
spend time on the phone or soothing the ruffled feathers of your
mechanic
who'll be dealing with a company that makes it money by NOT paying. The
bigger the claim, the more effort they will make to look for a way out.
I too questioned the "performance" defintition and I guess my butt dyno
is wrong afterall in making me think that I had a car with some
performance characteristics. Here is the Accel response to my query:"
Hello Bill,
I just received some information from our Administrator, Omni Auto in
regards to coverage for Audis. All Audi vehicles are covered if there
are less than 150,000 miles on the odometer at the purchase date as long
as the Audi is registered in the U.S.. We cannot cover
Canadian-registered vehicles, and they cannot have kilometers instead of
miles on the odometer. Even though the Audi is considered a
"performance" car, except for the above exceptions, you should have no
problem getting warranty coverage. I hope we can be of help to you.
Have a great day,

Next step is to download the fine print WRT chips/mods and maybe take a
flyer on the easy monthly payment plan?
Cheers'
