Well, I havent seen that around, but I did observe the gas-pump-symbol
some times. Also, the trip computer went bananas, and was reset all the
time. Might be another version of the same fault.. Wouldn't hurt to do
the cleanup anyway?

Is another symptom of this problem a wacky trip computer, where when the
tank is near empty it says 1200 miles to go, and when it's full says
"E"?

Hi, all!
Seems as if more people have problems wit this, so I'll post what I
wrote to Mark S.
"I usually got the oil symbol, brake symbol and then the garbled picture
ending with two hoizontal lines and full alarm.. Kinda annoying.. ;o)
http://www.sjmautotechnik.com/elec.html#contact is the actual link, but
I just _checked_ the solderings really good, and cleaned the contacts
with CRC electronic cleaner and applied the tiniest amount of vaseline
on them before the re-assembly.
1. Remove instr. cluster (IC) per scott's page. (or
http://www.urs4.com/technical/interior/interior_trim.html#IC removal)
There's some connectors (2-colored) who needs to be 'opened' before they
can be retracted, use a small screwdriver to pry up the lock.
2. The culprit is most certainly the connector _inside_ the IC, you have
to remove the upper(or lower?) torx screws to open the 'hinged' part of
the IC (behint the tacho/speedo) and reveal the connector. (and the Auto
check computer board)
3. clean&vaselize.. (switch lubricant is of course the best..)
4. reassemble and put it back in the car.
Some of the guys also change to 2w bulbs, I find the background
illumination OK. (guess the
Don't use abrasive cleaning methods, or you'll just remove the gold
plating, I use a bit of cardboard with a soft cloth and cleaning spray.
Happy hunting!"
Hope this helps!!

Hey Bjorn,
I have a 92 UrS4 can you point me to the article at Scott's page? I
have removed the instrument cluster to install 2W bulbs and did
Stabilant22 on all the contacts...but suspect I need to dig deeper to
"clean" the connector?

It's instrument cluster connector cleanup time! (ICCCT) Se Scott's page
and the archives.
The OK means that you've had a power failure, and is a pretty common
thing.. Guess you have a '93 or something? ('bout time.)

Gents,
Wondered if any of you guys have experienced the OK light coming on
during normal driving? Mine has come on a couple of time over the past
few weeks when I am just driving along. I know it comes on when you
start up the car and it does it diagnostics..but when your driving?!
Thoughts?
Cheers
