Eric,

I left my upper susupension bushings and bearings
alone when I installed my ABT springs and Bilstein
shocks at 75,000 mi. At 147,000mi. I replaced the
upper strut bearings and lower control arm/sway bar
bushings because the suspension was knocking. The
strut bearings were still good at 147,000 mi.

I just received the shocks/struts (Bilstein P36-0369,
                      B46-2066) and springs
                      (H&R 29921) for my 95 S6. I am
accumulating tools and
                      literature to make
                      this change and carefully
studying the advice and
                      experience seen here.

What else should I consider for
replacement when the
                      suspension is
                      disassembled?
                      I understand about the camber
plates but I plan (!) to
                      change the springs and
then evaluate what I have for
camber before modifying
                      the plates.

What about the strut mount and
upper strut bearing? I
                      have 70,000 miles -
                      should I replace these? If
replacement is appropriate
                      should I use original
                      equipment type parts or are
there some special
                      high-performance parts to
                      consider?

                      TIA

                      Eric
