Jimmy, would it not work better... less resistance, and better cooling by
placing them in parallel.
In series, you would add the pressure drop's across each IC.
In parallel, the air flow to each would be halved, and result in less
pressure drop across each unit.

You would lose the doubled cooling by the series connection, but it would
likely be offset quite well by the reduced flow.
