Hello to the list,

For the uninitiated, PBMAF stands for the Pederhousen Big MAF. That would be
Mike Pederson. My PBMAF was installed last week and the installation is very
sanitary. The stock and RS2 MAFs have an inside diameter of 71mm. This Bosch
MAF has an 86mm ID. The surface area difference is 8.96 sq in vs 6.24 sq in.
The idea here is to slow down the same airflow for higher hp goals without
ripping out the hot wire coil by running it through a wider tube. My new
software package is still adapting. As things stand I have full boost at 3300
rpm. That's a drop from my previous 3700 rpm. We've pulled the Apexi AVCR and
we're back to the WGFV. One problem I'm having is a caes of boost overshoot.
Typically the car goes up to 27 psi before dropping back to 24 psi. The new
Turbosmart WG is a 45 mm unit. Stock is somewhere around 31 mm. This will
hopefully help the overshoot.

Sportec sent a tuner over from Swizerland last week to do the final
programming on a 550 hp neuS4 at ASW. He'll be doing custom software for Mike
and I on the dyno.

I'll have some more pictures tomorrow of my new Turbosmart Bypass Valve and
Wastegate. That stuff goes on the car next week in time I hope for the return
visit of Gunther the Sportec tuner. That's all for now kids.

Hap, thinking aloha and trying to stay in step with Mike P. in Evergreen,
Maguire
