Must be a different process for the RF system. These steps didn't work for
my '95.5 S6 :( Can't decipher the Bently method (Haven't been able to
find)...

Oh well. The wife doesn't drive it enough to have to have it move the seats
for her automaticaly. :)

Subject: [s-cars] 1993 S4 Keyless Entry- Recoding your key

Hi all,

Don't forget to recode your key to the car after replacing batteries if it
doesn't work. This may be your problem. When I changed out my vacuum
control module, I had to do this because the VCM still thought it was in a
different car. I had to teach it to recognize my keys.

The procedure is simple. You put your second key in the ignition and turn
it on. Then you exit the car, lock the doors with the primary key, and then
depress the button while pointing at the IR receiver. Press once if it is
to be keyed to the number 1 slot on the seat memory module. Press twice if
it is to be keyed to the number 2 slot on the seat memory module.

The alarm will beep each time you depress the key. Then wait 5 seconds and
depress it again and the doors will unlock.

Repeat the procedure after swapping keys to program the other key(s)
