[s-cars] slow/dim gauges thread?

Seems to me that there was a thread a while back about multiple gauges goin=
g on the fritz.  Mine seem to move slowly or not at all, or get only part w=
ay up to normal operating positions.  The fuel gauge will even occasionally=
 suddenly "lose" a third of a tank; the coolant gauge barely comes up...som=
etimes.  Cleaned and tightened the connections on the circuit board and mad=
e it a little better.  It would seem that the culprit would be the voltage =
stabilizer, which is, of course, hardwired into later dashes.  Does anyone =
have a good source for that part, and the p/n for that matter; my Bentley C=
D is acting up tonight, or maybe it's just my CD drive.  Is there an inexpe=
nsive substitute?
