[s-cars] AC squeal

Hi Bob;

Sounds like your blower motor is on it's way out. The bearings can't be
lubed, you have to change the motor.
Another possibility is you have leaves or debris in the blower rubbing
against the fan wheel, but this is very unlikely.
I've replaced the blower on my S4 (it was squealing as well). You don't have
to completely remove the heater box - if you raise the front of the box a
couple of inches you can slide the old blower out and the new one in. It's a
PITA job, but not as bad as pulling the console to get the heater box out.

Subject: [s-cars] AC squeal

Hi Y'all,

Just started Saturday - the fan in the AC blower ('95 S6) has started to
develop an intermittent high pitched slightly warbling squealing
noise. The frequency or volume of the noise seems more or less unrelated
to the speed of the blower except that the noise stops when the blower is
turned off and also stops when the blower is turned full on. If the blower
is turned off and then almost immediately back on the noise does not return
for a while. How does one lubricate the blower? Or is that the solution?

Please don't tell me to get the bats out of the AC unit. They aren't
there. They are in the belfry. :-)
