[s-cars] Look under your seats

Thought I'd pass on a recent experience. My S4, with 155k mi. on it, had the
passenger seat electric adjustment fail. Long story short, the wiring under
the seat was frayed and shorting out, causing the thermal fuse to blow.
Problem is, when the seat adjuster fails, you can longer move it to it's
rear most position which is necessary to remove the bolts to tilt the seat
up to get at the wiring. Initially, I didn't know about the frayed wire, but
LUCKILY, by pushing around on the wire I was able to get it working long
enough to move the seat rearward and remove the bolts. Then, I saw the
frayed wire. There are some small bolts under the seat, and I guess the
wires were rubbing there. So you may want to peek under there, to check for
this potential problem. If you decide to remove the bolts to tip the seat up
for a better look, the plastic covers come off by pushing down and pulling
forward. They will come out without pushing down, but you will break the
tabs...like I did.
