[s-cars] Snow Tires

Last year I was going to get the NRW's and mount them on my stock 16" rims.
Alas, by the time I was about to purchase them, there were none to be found
in Ontario anywhere.

I decided to go with the Pirelli 210 SnowSport's. 205/55/16 with car in
stock trim.

They were a joy. The majority of driving was on dry pavement (and wear was
very good), but we had a couple of good snow storms, and I was skiing every
weekend. In 6-8" of fresh stuff, I was cruising past people on the highway,
and had little slippage off the line at lights (had to move fast as the ass
end of a pick-up was moving sideways towards me). Also, braking in snow
(whether fresh or packed) was good.

These tires are rarely mentioned, and, IMHO a good alternative.

My .02 (Canadian, so about a penny for you south of the border)

Dan.
