Subject: [s-cars] snow tires

I have tried Blizzaks and Hakka 1's, but must add one additional piece of
advice: It not only depends on the snow/ ice you're driving on, but whether
the tire is designed for studs, whether you're using studs, and if studs are
even allowed. Michigan doesn't allow studs because they destroy our roads
(hmm...wonder why they allow the Big rigs to have double capacity of
anywhere else in the nation -- and our roads get torn up massively by them).

I actually had better grip with semi-worn Blizzaks in my 200q20v than I did
with my Urq running Hakka 1's with full tread (but no studs) at the
Bridgestone Driving school. Granted, my diff locks were inop and the
200q20v had torsen, but just a point to consider.

Happy motoring this winter!
