I talked to him about 3 years ago and he is very receptive to building custom
trannys for individuals. From all reports he solved the problems he mentioned
in the noted article, but can you afford his answer. He once told me that I
could have an o1e with any ratio of gear with special syncros or a dog box,
any type of diff. in any ratio, a buletproof clutch and bulletproof axles for
around 15-17,000$ - he hinted at a possibility of a true sequential shifter
but.. we never went into that. I was too shocked by 2 things - 1 - how little
such a piece would cost and 2 - how little chance I would have of giving away
this much money for a tranny. Its a lot of money, but looking at how formula
3 racing trannys go for 80k$ and up a pop, not that bad. I would love to
drive one tho ... with a dog box and that special clutch for the launch and
axles that would let you drop the hammer on 500hp at 7000rpm with all 4
wheels hooking up (might need Scotts lockers) and then bang shifting at
8000rpm thru the1st 4 (and a little of 5) and pulling a 10 second quarter in
a 2600lb race prepped 90Q. I will pay money for that ride.
