Hey Lee- is that autox or track events? Most club events (except time
trials) don't allow lap timing for liability reasons. You'll have zero
insurance coverage if it's a timed event, usually.

I'm happy w/ my Bieffe Predator- remember heads come in different shapes
and sizes so what works for me might not work for you. The Bieffe fits
me great, love the removable, washable liner and the aluminum (as
opposed
to Bell's plastic) hardware. However, for each person, you might have
different needs. OMP helmets didn't fit me well, I haven't tried Bell or
Arai (can't afford the Arai anyway). Oops, forgot Simpson.

I got a SA rated helmet for track driving, some clubs will let you drive
with a M rated (motorcycle) helment, SCCA autox is fine w/ a M rated
helmet
(but SCCA req. SA rated helmets for racing). Big difference in cost- a
M rated helmet can be easily had for $100-150, SA rated helmets tend to
be a lot more money.
