Scott,

Thanks for the information. I will look one more time saturday morning for
how much room is left in front the radiator, but the V8 has been squizzed
into the bay engine.

Regards,
Frederic.

VW's have been using water/oil heat exchangers for years, including vr6=all.
Water/oil heat exchangers aren't as effiecient as air/oil
exchangers/coolers. Fredric, get a bigger oil cooler installed. I know for
a fact you can put a 25row standard -10 oil cooler in front of the radiator.
I also know that this should lower your oil temps massively, even during
track sessions. On a full race motor I built in my shop (26psi 400dyno HP),
the 25 row would put up temps below 130c during the hottest of track days
(100F track temps), and the oil temps would fall back to 100c before the car
got back to the paddock parking.

Going water/oil is going to reduce the effectiveness of both temps.

Ted,

You are correct, I am talking about water to oil cooler heat exchanger. The
reason of this approach is the fact that the water temperature never goes
more than 90 degrees celsius on track
Before installing such system, I am going put louvers on the left front
wheel liner. Possibly go for a bigger oil cooler (Porsche for exemple) or
have two stock Audi oil coolers. Fan Forced airflow can be an option as
well.

I will keep you posted.

Regards,
Frederic
