Re: the Garrett ball bearing turbo, here's what I observed while running my
eS2 Coupe at Audi Club events this summer at Mid-Ohio and Watkins Glen.
Dean Treadway of the 20v turbo, Bay Area and Audi event traveling fame, had
his newly built, beautiful silver RS2 Coupe at both events.

I'd be running my S2 with a stock 3B K24 turbo and be passed by Dean in the
RS2.  Invariably, he'd be sending smoke from the ball bearing turbo all the
way down the straight.  Both Dean and Andrew Bennett (of 2Bennett) who was
at the Glen said the smoking was an ongoing problem.  I do not know whether
the turbo was a Garrett or not, but it might be worth checking with Bennett.

As a result, I am currently having Anderson Motorsport here in Minnesota
install an RS2 turbo (it's a KKK) along with a Hoppen MTM Stage III chip for
Road America in a week and the Audi Club Nationals October 5-8.

Hope there are a lot of S-Car listers at both events.  Don't forget the
S-Cars concours incorporated into the Sunday night concours at the
Nationals.  Look for the pearl S2 with Minnesota plates.  See ya there!
