Adrian,
Have your smoke the carpet recently ?????
I can only recomend a better quality one next time !!!
I am surprised I have not heard from you regarding LeMansClassic. The quiet
city of Le Mans is going to face another yearly invasion of citizens of her
gracious majesty. It will be hard to tell this week end if we are in UK or
in France. French highways emrgency lanes on sunday afternoon are going to
be jammed by tons of unreliable english cars left broken !!!!
Regards,
Frederic

)
Sirs,
I write with regard to recent assertions published on your esteemed list, in
which the reliability of sporting motor cars manufactured in Great Britain
was called into question, and in a certain mocking tone.
Frankly, I find these statements insulting in the extreme. Is there no
gratitude in your country for for the efforts made by our engineers? With
minimal resources and working by candle-light, these masters of automotive
technology have striven to design machines with which to build character in
our cousins across the sea. Clearly, Sir, on your list there is no respect
for these altruistic ideals which have fostered self-reliance, and in a
backward and underdeveloped land, provided a very basic education in
mechanical and electrical skills.
It is testament to the success of those fine men at Triumph, Jaguar, and the
other place, that to this very day individuals such as your Paul Krasusky
endeavour to solve puzzles first set in steel fifty years ago.
To compare soul-less out-pourings spewed from the conifers, with motor cars
constructed with only hope and good-will, is unfair in the extreme.
If, Sirs, you care to pay a visit to your sister list "ur-q at audifans.com",
you will there find individuals undergoing a greater torture, such as only
the teutonic mind could conceive. Consider your fate.
But hope does not die, for a force once thought spent grows again in these
islands which will soon, God-willing, be visited once more upon your distant
shores. For in this land a new power arises, and new engineers have
contrived to create sporting motor cars to test tolerance and patience to
levels never yet experienced by motorists in your United States.
You may preview this new adventure here: www.tvr-eng.co.uk. Read about the
drivers of these cars at www.sniffpetrol.com (you will need to scroll down a
little.)
I myself choose persevere with my old weapon, a 1971 TR6. It may not look
like much but it's got it where it counts. I made a few improvements to her
myself. Dear oh dear I changed idioms there.
For your sakes, Sirs, I hope that your "urS4/S6" "Sedans" and "Wagons"
thrill you for as long as these fine British motor cars have done. The world
needs men tempered in adversity.
Yours,
Mr Adrian Charles Edward Hart
