Brian,
No offense intended, but I'm not talking about _YOU_ hitting
something, I'm talking about parking your car in a place where
you might get hit by someone else.
Some jerk backed into my car and caused $1700 worth of damage.
Bumpers wouldn't have made a damn bit of difference. However, if
it was a car that backed up, it would have hit the bumper and at
those speeds, probably nothing would have happened. With euro bumpers,
I'm not sure I can say that- euro bumpers are like truck bumpers-
mostly decorative and if someone smacks you while parking, you might
end up with crumpled sheet metal.

Taka,
Here's an FYI, those of us who have chosen the euro
route quite frankly, speak up if you disagree euro
boys, have done it because they look damn good as well
as shaving six inches and 50 lbs off our cars and if
I'm gonna hit something it'll be alot faster than 5mph ;-)Another BTW,
the black plastic "rub" strips are REPLACEABLE ($70 for all 3 front or
back), I have 2 sets, whereas the whole US unit ($600+) has to be
replaced in the event of a rubby.
