[s-cars] 93 urS4: high speed fan and AC questions

Thanks for all help, especially from Jørn (RS6MTM) who says this is the
procedure:
-Remove front bumper
-Remove intercooler.
Well, a walk in the park it seems! :o) (If I only could get off those
plastic fender strips..)

The resistor pack is apparently not accessible from inside the engine
compartment.

Guess I should find a way to test it w/o removing it, before I order a
new one.. I think mr. Mockry and mr. Bentley could help me there. ;o)

Regards,
Bjorn :o)

I think you are asking about the large resistor with 3 or 4 large wires,
that is used for radiator fan speed control. If this is in the same
place as the '86 to '89 Audi 200, then it is on the outside of the
front frame extension. It's the part of the unit body frame that holds
the left side of the bumper, out in front of the wheel. I think the
resistor is behind the inner fender well liner, bolted onto the outside
of the frame.

I don't know how you get at it. I don't know if you can reach it
from inside the engine compartment, there will be a lot of things
in the way. Perhaps you can get behind the fender well liner from
underneath, then you should be able to see it.

When you figure how to get to it, please let us know.

    - Charlie
