Cody,
I had the same problem in my S6-- it might not be your alternator. Have
your interior lights stopped working? Does your fuel gauge read
incorrectly? If the answer is "yes", then fuse #8 (in the driver's side
dash) is probably blown. Two possible causes of this fuse blowing are:
1. A short in the wiring harness under the rear seat (this was the source
of my problem).
2. A short in the trunk wiring harness. A potential weak point in the UrS
wiring is located on the driver's side of the trunk lid, near the hinge.
The wiring harness makes a sharp bend there as it goes from the body into
the trunk lid. Over time, the wires inside the black casing can chafe
against each other and short out. On my car, 4 wires were broken in this
location (repaired by the previous owner).
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Eugene
